Mexican food in Fairfield and the Favela name are difficult to separate.
After a great deal of success offering quick, traditional and affordable Mexican fare, owner Veronica Favela expanded that concept, opening Favela’s Fusion in 2008, with a broader selection from the flavors of Mexico.
In fact, much of the Fusion menu acknowledges the region in Mexico from which many of the particular dishes draw their inspiration.
The real victory is the balancing act Favela’s manages between dishes most American diners are accustomed to on Mexican restaurant menus, like fajitas and enchiladas, with traditional dishes that appeal to purists such as albondigas and molcajete.
While the “fusion” in question might be one of more American-style Mexican dishes and more traditional Mexican dishes, the real fusion might be the one happening between the affordable cafe-style dining experience with an elegant evening out experience in perfect balance.
But as far as Favela’s is concerned, it’s the balancing act and fusion of two great things that has helped make the brand one of Fairfield’s favorites for decades.
By the looks of things, that popularity isn’t fading anytime soon.
